That is what we call innovative: 6.12 m height and 70 to per vessel instead of truck
A 70 tons steam boiler from Stade / Lower Saxony to Izmir / Turkey all
the way per vessel.
Our experts have been engaged end of June 2005 with a transportation
of a oversized steam boiler.
This logistic challenge has been solved exclusively per vessel
virtually without trucks all the way from the former nuclear power plant
near river ÒSchwingeÓ up to Izmir. It was necessary to find a concrete and
innovative solution, because the steam boiler could not be transported from
Stade to Bremen because of its over-sized height.
The over-sized steam boiler, with 70 tons of weight and 6.12 m
of height, has been loaded on a hudge pontoon after having been dismanteled.
The transportation was from Stade via Elbe, North Sea and Weser to the port
of Bremen. There the hudge boiler was loaded with the help of a floating
crane on ÒMs VarnebankÓ.
Due to this solution the orderer profitted in time and money. From
Stade to Bremen it took only 24 hours. The following seatransportation to
Izmir/Turkey took 16 days.
